Posted August 1, 2009	SUMMER'S FLYIN' BY! Can't believe it's already August! Had a wonderful time doing our show for the Special Needs campers at Camp Spencer this week - what a great bunch of kids! Looking forward to Mickey's Mountain next Saturday, especially to visit with Nancy Mickey, who's hopefully on her way to a full recovery. See you all later this month at Tioga & Laurel Hill, then in September at Rogers, New Centerville, Mohican, Frostburg & North Country Brewing.
Posted March 30, 2009	RIP: OLD OLIVE SMITH We were saddened to learn of the passing of Olive Smith of Tioga, WV on March 29. Mrs. Smith, 96, was the subject of the song "Old Olive Smith" from our first CD, released in 2006. The song recounts her ordeal of being lost in the woods near her home for several days in 2005 and the efforts made to find her. We got the chance to spend some time with Olive on our trips to West Virginia; go to our photo gallery for pictures.

As this year draws to a close, we want to take a few minutes to thank everyone who helped make 2008 another great year for our band - all the fans, promoters and especially the DJs for playing our music around the globe. Posted June 24, 2008	NORTH COUNTRY BREWING ROCKED! The band really had the crowd ROCKIN' last night at NCB! The old adage "you can't dance to bluegrass" was tossed out the window as the dancers had the floor shaking. We always have a great time playing at this popular college town microbrewery just north of Pittsburgh, and are already looking forward to our next gig there on August 18.
Posted June 16, 2008	BLUEGRASS in the HILLS on Saturday June 14 We had a great time at Bluegrass in the Hills in Hopedale, Ohio on Saturday, despite the soggy weather. Calvin's new stage backdrop design and extended covered audience area were nice new additions this year. The bands all did fine shows, and it was especially nice to meet and spend some time with Alex Hibbitts & his band Appalachian Reign, from down around Johnson City, Tennessee - all fine musicians & real nice folks.
Posted June 5, 2008	"Can't Wait" gets national airplay In monitoring the radio playlists, we're pleased to note that tracks from our "Can't Wait" CD are enjoying airplay from Maine to California and from Canada to Florida. Our thanks to those DJs who feature bluegrass, and our special thanks to them for choosing to play the music of the Allegheny Drifters. We appreciate it more than we can say.

Posted May 29, 2008	Great Time at Foxburg We had a great time at Foxburg, PA over Memorial Day weekend. The weather was super and we met many new friends and renewed friendships from last year's visit. It was our pleasure to bring some traditional bluegrass to old Lincoln Hall. Our thanks to the folks at ARCA, especially Pat and Arthur Steffy and Adam Weiss. Thanks also to the many kind folks who purchased our CDs - we hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed playing for you.
Posted May 4, 2008	New CD "Can't Wait" Released April 18, 2008 We're pleased to have celebrated the release of our new CD at the St. Joseph's House of Hospitality show at Synod Hall in Pittsburgh. It was a wonderful evening of bluegrass, breaking previous attendance records and raising funds for a very good cause. Our new CD, with special guest fiddler, Michael Cleveland, is already on the air regionally as well as online streams such as bluegrasscountry.org and worldwidebluegrass.com
